2017-18 kick off Party and ag. Olypics
August is always a very busy month for the students of Washington County getting settled back into school. Their schedules are full of meetings, practice and finishing up any summer jobs. Most meetings for other organizations tend to have food and some kind of planning for the year which is great and normally very productive. However, FFA likes to do things a little different so for 2017 our kick off was more of a party than a meeting. The Washington County FFA alumni provided a meal that was ate while the officers asked each member to sign up for a comittee pay dues and put down shirt sizes if they wanted one. The goal of having members sign up at the kick off party was to encourage responsibility and leadership among the members and promote chapter involvement. As the wonderful meal was finished the Ag. Olymics was the next event where students got to have fun through team building games put together by the 2017-18 officers.
National FFA Week 2015
FFA Week was celebrated from February 22nd to February 28th across the National and Washington County High School was no exception. Monday, the officers arranged for Guessing Games with candy for a prize. Wednesday was Official Dress Day, where FFA members sported their Blue Corduroy proudly to take the 2015 chapter photo. As an added bonus for those wearing their Official Dress, lunch was on the FFA chapter with a pizza party in the Ag Room. Thursday brought the traditional 6:00 morning and the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Breakfast. Even though it was rather chilly in the Ag Shop, FFA members pushed through and cooked delicious Sausage, Bacon, Pancakes, French Toast, Eggs, and Hashbrowns. Everyone certainly left with a full tummy and a smile. FFA week ended with the Alumni Fish Fry and Auction on Sunday, March 1st.
